Goal Setting Monthly Tip
Last month, we talked about using Discipline to stick to your goals. This month, our Goal Setting Word is Opportunity. Opportunity is something that waits to be seized and taken. You are the massage therapist or personal trainer that see the potential and goes for broke. At Help Your Practice, we feel that every avenue has an unlimited amount of Opportunities that need to be tapped and pursued.
Opportunities can be created. For example, Eric once sent a letter to Pat Croce (entrepreneur, author, and minority owner of the NBA Philadelphia 76ers) asking for business advice. That letter created an opportunity to meet with Mr. Croce personally and receive world-class business advice.
Opportunities can also be found, many times by working hard and making the business or personal life contacts. Michael was working as a personal trainer and needed to take some time off to take the national certification for massage therapy. The facility director told Michael that based on his professionalism and reputation, the facility would be interested in bringing Michael in as a self-employed massage therapist for
their members.
(Michael: When you are a night owl, like me, working 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. for $8 per hour, it took me about one nanosecond to like the idea of setting my own office hours and start making $35 per hour (in 1993) instead.)
That found opportunity helped Michael launch his massage therapy business in 1993.
Dedicate yourself to creating and finding Opportunities. Go on the offensive and use those opportunities to
build your massage practice or personal training practice. |
